My Thoughts on "Broken Like You"- By Luna Pierce - Sinners and Angles Series

Image
Broken Like You was a fantastic book that helped you understand the fall of the previous Mafia Boss's in the Saints and Sinner's series and the history of how things went down. I read these books out of order which wasn't an issue when reading them but after reading this one things really started to make more sense.           If you've read my previous post you of Luna Pierce writings, you know I am a huge fan of how she is able to write about the things that many people go through and struggle with and bring not only light on the subject and how those people could be feeling but also do it tastefully. Johnny and Claire both have their own mental health issues that they both work through and help each other through.      I give this one a 4/5 due to even though it was a fantastic book, I did struggle with it keeping my attention. There wasn't a huge bit of romance but there was a good amount of story line. The story line ...

My Thoughts on "Ruin My Life" by Luna Pierce Sinners and Angles Series

Image
Where to start with this one! This one gave me so many emotions! I honestly think that this one is probably my most favorite and most relatable one out of the series so far. I'll attempt this review without giving spoilers as always but this book really hit me in the feels and hit home with me on so many levels!       Cora (main female baddie!) has a seriously messed up past that not only steals her childhood/teenage years but also creates a huge mind shift for her. I can't express how empowering her story is written and how strong of a female character she is even thought in the story she doubts herself. I also adore how all 3 of her boyfriends empower and embrace her as she is. I hate that the men in Cora's life before getting involved with Miller, Alec and Silver were all planning on using her, including her own father. I hate that her father let her get involved in his shady debts and allowed her to take the fall without even attempting to pu...

My thoughts on "Villan Era" by Luna Pierce Sinners and Angles Series

Image
This is book 2 of the Sinners and Angles series. This series so far is amazing. I'm all about a good why choose or reverse harem. However, this series is hitting me in all the feels for some reason.     I love how strong June is and I love her fight/drive. She is literally goals in this department. I also love how all of the guys love it too. I feel like her fight and drive really pushes them to be better men. I also think Luna Pierce did an amazing job describing anxiety and depression in June and the signs that Simon saw.     It was really refreshing to read a book and a lot of the relationship problems where the same in the why choose relation as they would be in a traditional one.     I did hate how long it took for June and Simon to really understand themselves. I hate that it took Magnus to really throw it in Coen and Dom's faces to get them to start worrying about June. I think Simon should have got way more credit ...

My Thoughts on "Untamed Vixen" - Luna Pierce Sinners and Angles Series

Image
At first I wasn't 100% sure what the hype was for this book. I got about 30% in and I was hooked! I love a good reverse heirm/why choose. I also love how June's story ends up full circle and how she pushes the guys. She's a strong woman and doesn't let them forget it.      I love how their story unfolded. I love that she met them all at different points and in different situations. It really allows them to have their own individual stories to their love as well as their whole entire family story. It also really shows their love for her for them to know, understand her and love her with no intention of asking her to choose or to change herself.  My only dislike for this one and I understand a little because it could have made the book so much longer but I wish there was more chapters from all the guys perspectives.  This is part of a series (Sinners and Angles) and I'm excited to start book two! I read this is 2 days so I'm curious if the next book ...

My Thoughts on "The Pucking Wrong Number" - By C.R. Jane

Image
I had very high expectations with this book after seeing so much about it on TikTok. It did not disappoint me. This book had me on edge with the amount of red flags that Lincoln was flying around him. The spice in this one is a hard 5/5 and I originally had my doubts how this could be a dark romance with it also being a hockey romance but C.R Jane knocked this out of the park!      Lincoln who is a big shot hockey star ends up falling for this "nobody" Monroe. I loved how C.R Jane managed to tastefully provide us a picture of Monroe's struggles with her childhood and the things she went through. I also loved how she gracefully wrote how those things still effected her as an adult and how she worked through them. Lincoln turned his curiosity into a over the top obsession very quickly and I was weirdly here for it.      This book does have some triggers that you may want to look into. There was a few things I was not as comfortable with but it d...

My Thoughts on "Hide Me Darling" (The Darling Games Series #2) By Maree Rose

Image
This is the 2nd book in The Darling Games series and I'm here for this series!       I loved this book just as much as the first one. This one is about one of the Daughters of the original main characters in the first book. Hydessa is following in her parents footsteps but more specifically her mother. However she isn't FBI, she is a police officer that also works for her family's business. She is going undercover to catch a serial killer. If you like MFM and why choose this is for you!  This does have some tropes and is kind of dark in the romance portion. This one did follow the first one in the way of talking about their darkness and I wasn't here for that portion. I did like how everything went full circle. The banter and the way the book tells the story from all of the main characters perspective is very well done.       I loved the book and I didn't read the troupe warnings so there was a few scenes that made m...

My Thoughts on "Hunt Me Darling" (The Darling Games Series #1) By Maree Rose

Image
This does have some troupes that you definitely want to be aware of and make sure you're okay with but if you are..... you're in for an AMAZING read. Especially if you like MFM, or why choose romance. There is a bit of cat and mouse in this one. The female main character Alexandra Darling is a FBI forensic profiler hunting two serial killers. She is known for her odd sense when it comes to the darkness that serial killers have. While hunting them, she ends up having to face her own darkness.       The spice and plot twist are both 5/5. if you're into the darker side of romance you'll appreciate the romance part of this book.  The plot twist had me upset with myself. I was sure I figured it out and was getting upset that I did. Next thing I knew, I didn't have a clue, and that made the twist even better than I could have imagined it was going to bed.      The back and forth in this book is amazing. I loved the banter, the slow but not ...

My thoughts on "Half Truths - Secret Society, #1)" by Claire Contreras

Image
Over all I did like this book but it isn't one I would read again. I give it a 3/5 stars mostly because it was a great suspense/thriller book for me but it lost points since I thought it was a romance. I was disappointed in that portion of the book.       If I was going to recommend this one to anyone it would be a young adult (18-20 something)or as a pallet cleanser for a romance reader since there wasn't much in this.       It's in the genre of a hockey romance but there isn't much romance. It's a painfully slow burn and there was maybe three scenes of any type of romance, most were kissing scenes. This is more about the secret society part which I did find interesting. The suspense with the secret society was good.       The book was very well written and did keep me wanting to read more. On the suspense/thriller side of the book I was very into it but I wasn't a fan of how that portion was wrapped up at ...
