My thoughts on "Half Truths - Secret Society, #1)" by Claire Contreras



    Over all I did like this book but it isn't one I would read again. I give it a 3/5 stars mostly because it was a great suspense/thriller book for me but it lost points since I thought it was a romance. I was disappointed in that portion of the book. 

    If I was going to recommend this one to anyone it would be a young adult (18-20 something)or as a pallet cleanser for a romance reader since there wasn't much in this. 

    It's in the genre of a hockey romance but there isn't much romance. It's a painfully slow burn and there was maybe three scenes of any type of romance, most were kissing scenes. This is more about the secret society part which I did find interesting. The suspense with the secret society was good. 

    The book was very well written and did keep me wanting to read more. On the suspense/thriller side of the book I was very into it but I wasn't a fan of how that portion was wrapped up at the end. I felt it was very lacking and just rushed to finish. There was so much hype built on the societies that I really thought there would be more with that. 

On the romance side, I wished there was more from Logan's point of view, He did have a handful of great lines that he said to Avery and I wish we were more in his head while saying them. I feel like it would have drove those lines more into the readers souls. I did like how Claire Contreras wrapped up Avery and Logan's love story though, it really tied well with remarks he had made through out the start of their journey. 

There is another book in the series "Twisted Circles" I may read this as my next cleanser just because I do like to finish a series if I can.

   This does have some troupes that you definitely want to be aware of and make sure you're okay with but if you are..... you're in for an AMAZING read. My thoughts on "Madness" by Shantel Tessier #6 in L.O.R.Ds series

  Madness is the latest book in the L.O.R.Ds series and I'm here for it. I already love the series but Madness really brought some understanding to things. Haidyn Jamison Reeves really was and is the only man in the series with a heart. I've not cried during many books but this one got me. Out of all 6 books in the series this one is the most captivating and gut wrenching. The thrill level is 5/5, Spice is 5/5, overall 5/5 highly recommended, however you need to read the series to get the full effect.  I love the way Shantel is able to capture so much spice while still having a storyline that is not only engaging but also captivating. I literally get lost in the L.O.R.Ds world when reading these and Madness was no exception. My Thoughts on "The Pucking Wrong Number" - By C.R. Jane

    I had very high expectations with this book after seeing so much about it on TikTok. It did not disappoint me. This book had me on edge with the amount of red flags that Lincoln was flying around him. The spice in this one is a hard 5/5 and I originally had my doubts how this could be a dark romance with it also being a hockey romance but C.R Jane knocked this out of the park!      Lincoln who is a big shot hockey star ends up falling for this "nobody" Monroe. I loved how C.R Jane managed to tastefully provide us a picture of Monroe's struggles with her childhood and the things she went through. I also loved how she gracefully wrote how those things still effected her as an adult and how she worked through them.
