My Thoughts on "Hunt Me Darling" (The Darling Games Series #1) By Maree Rose
This does have some troupes that you definitely want to be aware of and make sure you're okay with but if you are..... you're in for an AMAZING read. Especially if you like MFM, or why choose romance. There is a bit of cat and mouse in this one. The female main character Alexandra Darling is a FBI forensic profiler hunting two serial killers. She is known for her odd sense when it comes to the darkness that serial killers have. While hunting them, she ends up having to face her own darkness.
The spice and plot twist are both 5/5. if you're into the darker side of romance you'll appreciate the romance part of this book. The plot twist had me upset with myself. I was sure I figured it out and was getting upset that I did. Next thing I knew, I didn't have a clue, and that made the twist even better than I could have imagined it was going to bed.
The back and forth in this book is amazing. I loved the banter, the slow but not to slow burn from the female main character. I loved how Maree Rose wrote this from all main character prospective. I was not a fan however, about how the characters kept referring to their inner darkness. I was a mix of the amount of times and just the wording around it. That was really my only negative.
I loved the book and I didn't read the troupe warnings so there was a few scenes that made me do a double take and check in with myself. But they weren't to graphic and Maree tastefully wrote them, so they were not intensely triggering.
