Thoughts on "This Love Hurts" - W. Willows - This Love Hurts series Book 1

     



    This is my first Winter Willows book and so far I am here for her! I love the way she writes this book with her way of describing how the characters feel and the surroundings really paints the scene and picture in my head well. This book is one that kept me guessing and leaves you reeling until you start the next one in the series. I listened to this book in like 2 days. I couldn't stop! I have not started the second book yet so I don't have a lot of answers to my questions yet.

    The FMC (Delilah)  is a strong woman in a tense and tough working field. Coming from a smaller town and a rough childhood, she consumes herself in her job. So much so, that she moved to follow a case. That's where she now and things are taking a rough turn. She's now the center of attention for someone who's attention is the worst to get. 

Both MMCs (Marcus and  Cody ) are strong and brooding men. Both are highly attracted to Delilah, however both are keeping secrets. Marcus is a dark man with his attention now drawn to Delilah, he claims he wants to keep her safe and is trying to help her however, that's usually not his MO with people. Cody is a man that works with Delilah and is the only person she feels she can trust to keep her safe however, he knows Marcus more than he lets on and is also keeping secrets from Delilah. 

Delilah's family is trying to get her to come home to visit however, she doesn't want to take this mess with her. She's fighting with her sister about coming home and waiting on Cody to get to the house when Marcus makes a very interesting and slightly romantic appearance. 

I cannot wait to start book two in this series. Willow did a fantastic job at writing this and keeping her readers attentions. This is in dual or multi point of views which for me helps me keep me paying attention. The narrators Desiree and Teddy do a fantastic job embracing the different tones of the situations and not sounding bored or to dramatically emphasized like some other narrators do.

Spice Rating: 2/5 -There are some moments with some description but nothing to spicy.

   This does have some troupes that you definitely want to be aware of and make sure you're okay with but if you are..... you're in for an AMAZING read. Especially if you like MFM, or why choose romance. There is a bit of cat and mouse in this one. The female main character Alexandra Darling is a FBI forensic profiler hunting two serial killers. She is known for her odd sense when it comes to the darkness that serial killers have. While hunting them, she ends up having to face her own darkness.       The spice and plot twist are both 5/5. if you're into the darker side of romance you'll appreciate the romance part of this book.  The plot twist had me upset with myself. My thoughts on "Madness" by Shantel Tessier #6 in L.O.R.Ds series

  Madness is the latest book in the L.O.R.Ds series and I'm here for it. I already love the series but Madness really brought some understanding to things. Haidyn Jamison Reeves really was and is the only man in the series with a heart. I've not cried during many books but this one got me. Out of all 6 books in the series this one is the most captivating and gut wrenching. The thrill level is 5/5, Spice is 5/5, overall 5/5 highly recommended, however you need to read the series to get the full effect.  I love the way Shantel is able to capture so much spice while still having a storyline that is not only engaging but also captivating. I literally get lost in the L.O.R.Ds world when reading these and Madness was no exception. Hayden is a completely misunderstood man whom has a huge heart of gold in a world where that's not a good thing. Plus he's a spade brother so having a heart is not part of the job description. My Thoughts on "The Pucking Wrong Number" - By C.R. Jane

    I had very high expectations with this book after seeing so much about it on TikTok. It did not disappoint me. This book had me on edge with the amount of red flags that Lincoln was flying around him. The spice in this one is a hard 5/5 and I originally had my doubts how this could be a dark romance with it also being a hockey romance but C.R Jane knocked this out of the park!      Lincoln who is a big shot hockey star ends up falling for this "nobody" Monroe. I loved how C.R Jane managed to tastefully provide us a picture of Monroe's struggles with her childhood and the things she went through. I also loved how she gracefully wrote how those things still effected her as an adult and how she worked through them. Lincoln turned his curiosity into a over the top obsession very quickly and I was weirdly here for it.      This book does have some triggers that you may want to look into.
