My Thoughts on "Sweet Collide"- by Ava Harrison

I won this book in a Goodreads give away and was looking forward to reading it as I was waiting for it. I'm honestly not sure what happened after it arrived but I struggled to open the book. However, I am so glad that I did! Oh man the wild ride this book came with. Judging the book by the cover completely bit me in the butt here but in a good way! I was shocked for this book to have the dark turns that it did. I read this book in like 2 days and I've got two toddlers. Once I started I couldn't stop. It had me hooked! As a warning there is a lot of talk with OCD and how that can effect everyday life and where some people could feel shame on this. Although there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed about!

Our main characters are Aiden Slate (male) whom is a NHL hockey star, and Cassidy Baker (female) whom is currently unemployed and living on her friends couch. Both main characters had a rough start to life. They both grew up in rough conditions until Cassidy or at the time she was known by a nickname from her middle name as "Pip" helped Aiden jump start his hockey career and get out of their rough life.

10 years later, he shows up in her town about to play a huge hockey game. She see's him on the TV and her room mate works at the hotel he's staying in. Through some alcohol courage she decides she's going to face him on a promise he broke. Aiden through some help from his manager and some risky choices decides to "higher" some company. Little does he know Cassidy is showing up instead. Cassidy has no idea when she goes to his hotel room. This is when their whole lives end up turned upside down.

The character development in this book is fantastic. Ava has a way of capturing things where a motion picture of this book plays in your head. I also believe she has an amazing way of capturing how certain mental disorders can effect peoples everyday life and how even if they do effect their lives in a huge way, there is no shame in having them or if that person chooses to get help. I love how she wrapped things up as well. As much as I loved this one I do with there was a little more spice/romance in it. It is labeled a romance and it is but I wish there was a little more to it.
