Thoughts on "But I Need You" - W. Willows - This Love Hurts series Book 2

Image
This one had me really in suspense most of the book. This one seems to be more about Marcus's story rather than anyone's however there is a huge character developing moment for not only Delilah but also Cody.  We find out that both Delilah and Marcus are very close to the same man however, they knew complete different versions of him. Marcus knew him more as a teacher and a crueler man. Delilah knew him more as a loving father.  Marcus first met and fell hard for Delilah when they were little. Delilah didn't even know he was around. However, Marcus knew her and was watching. He was also watching Cody for years before making himself known. I find that odd that he waited so long to connect with either of them, however given his tendencies I guess that is understandable. I feel like that its not a stretch to believe that the things that happened to him, he would turn to a darker side of life. However, I do find the things he changed about himself a little weird. It's nice ...

Thoughts on "This Love Hurts" - W. Willows - This Love Hurts series Book 1

This is my first Winter Willows book and so far I am here for her! I love the way she writes this book with her way of describing how the characters feel and the surroundings really paints the scene and picture in my head well. This book is one that kept me guessing and leaves you reeling until you start the next one in the series. I listened to this book in like 2 days. I couldn't stop! I have not started the second book yet so I don't have a lot of answers to my questions yet.     The FMC (Delilah)  is a strong woman in a tense and tough working field. Coming from a smaller town and a rough childhood, she consumes herself in her job. So much so, that she moved to follow a case. That's where she now and things are taking a rough turn. She's now the center of attention for someone who's attention is the worst to get.  Both MMCs (Marcus and  Cody ) are strong and brooding men. Both are highly attracted to Delilah, ho...

My Thoughts on Mexican Gothic - Silvia Moreno-Garcia

Image
Holy Lanta where to start. I'm going to try to do this without giving any spoilers. This was a book club read, had it not been for book club I probably never would have read this book. The cover just doesn't draw me in. However, with that being said I went into book club without reading anything about this book. *Highly recommend doing that by the way.*     This story is a wild ride and I loved every mintue of it!! It's about a young woman who is off to help see what's going on with her cousin who had recently married a basic stranger. The young woman gets trapped there with her and they have a wild ride to figure out what is happening and how to get out. This is set in late 1900s Mexico and the author did great at bringing that time period alive.      This book does have some science aspects and I'm generally not a big science girly but the Author Silvia tied this is phenomenally. She did amazing at bringing out the science without it be...

My Thoughts on "Sweet Collide"- by Ava Harrison

Image
I won this book in a Goodreads give away and was looking forward to reading it as I was waiting for it. I'm honestly not sure what happened after it arrived but I struggled to open the book. However, I am so glad that I did! Oh man the wild ride this book came with. Judging the book by the cover completely bit me in the butt here but in a good way! I was shocked for this book to have the dark turns that it did. I read this book in like 2 days and I've got two toddlers. Once I started I couldn't stop. It had me hooked! As a warning there is a lot of talk with OCD and how that can effect everyday life and where some people could feel shame on this. Although there is absolutely nothing to be ashamed about!     Our main characters are Aiden Slate (male) whom is a NHL hockey star, and Cassidy Baker (female) whom is currently unemployed and living on her friends couch. Both main characters had a rough start to life. They both grew up in rough conditions until Cass...

My thoughts on "Madness" by Shantel Tessier #6 in L.O.R.Ds series

Image
Madness is the latest book in the L.O.R.Ds series and I'm here for it. I already love the series but Madness really brought some understanding to things. Haidyn Jamison Reeves really was and is the only man in the series with a heart. I've not cried during many books but this one got me. Out of all 6 books in the series this one is the most captivating and gut wrenching. The thrill level is 5/5, Spice is 5/5, overall 5/5 highly recommended, however you need to read the series to get the full effect.  I love the way Shantel is able to capture so much spice while still having a storyline that is not only engaging but also captivating. I literally get lost in the L.O.R.Ds world when reading these and Madness was no exception. Hayden is a completely misunderstood man whom has a huge heart of gold in a world where that's not a good thing. Plus he's a spade brother so having a heart is not part of the job description. He's a L.O.R.D he's supposed to take what he wan...

My thoughts on "Vile Boys" by Carissa Wild- Spine Ridge University Series

Image
This one got me. On multiple levels, definitely check the triggers on this one. I usually don't give to much away but this one has grief as well as abuse in it. However, of you can handle those the book is a decent read but it does have some great twist to it.    There were a lot of things in this one that I didn't see coming. I loved that this was taking place during Lana's story in Evil Boys. Crystal is one heck of a mentally strong female character. The amount of things she's gone through and still manages to keep it together is amazing. I also loved how she never gave in or up!    Blaine is my favorite main male character in this one. He literally is everything! The way he thinks and goes about life, I envy it! The other main men, Caleb and Ares remind me to much of an ex that I couldn't really like them until the end.  The story in this one is not as good as the others. This one really felt like Carissa was getting bored herself. What little st...

My Thoughts on "Evil Boys" by Clarissa Wild - Spine Ridge University series

Image
Evil boys is the 2nd book in the series. This one follows Felix's sister Lana. She's the golden child of the family or at least that's what she wants everyone to believe. This whole series has a decent list of trigger warnings which I highly recommend looking at but if they don't bother you and you're into BDSM then this one should be a good read for you.  Lana is the daughter of one of the biggest criminal families. She's got her own dark secrets but she portrays herself to be above that. She trys very hard to only let people see the parts of her that make her look like the golden child. This is her first official year at the university. Very quickly she ends up running into her brothers 3 enemies and ends up on their radar.  Kai, Milo, and Nathan are Lana's brothers 3 enemies and they instantly take an interest in her. However, that interest doesn't intensify until she jips them out of one of their means for money. At that point she's crossed...
